March 6, 2009
Although I know that Watchmen is out in theaters today, it would be wrong of me not to finish this series that began a year ago. It's that time of the month and that means we've got the very last Watchmen video journal to share with all of you. MSN presents the very last behind-the-scenes video journal chronicling the development of the film. Today's video journal focuses on the various parallels between the graphic novel and our own society today, and even how, as described by Time magazine book critic Lev Grossman, it reads with the exact same devastating effect today as it did back when it was first published in 1986.

February 6, 2009
It's that time of the month and that means we've got the latest Watchmen video journal to share with all of you. Empire presents the 11th of 12 behind-the-scenes video journals chronicling the development of the film. Today's video journal focuses on the character of Rorschach (played by Jackie Earle Haley) and his ever-changing ink blot mask that wears throughout the film. This was one of the biggest challenges for them to pull off because the ink blots are constantly changing shape. It's fascinating, as always, to watch this and see all of the little elements of design and detail coming together in such a grand way. I love these videos, because they capture the true filmmaking essence of what is the Watchmen movie.

Today's video journal focuses on the Minutemen - a group of "costumed avengers" that was formed before the events of Watchmen in 1939 and disbanded ten years later in 1949. It does a great job of explaining the overall concept of Watchmen - the idea of what if people dressed up in costumes and got into the vigilante business? For fans of Watchmen and newcomers alike, this is a great intro video.

SciFi presents the 7th of 12 behind-the-scenes video journals chronicling the development of the film. Today's video journal focuses on the one true superhero from the Watchmen universe - the blue man known as Dr. Manhattan.
