Earlier this month, Zac Efron and Adam DeVine landed quite the spectacular companion for their forthcoming comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates set up at 20th Century Fox. Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick took the role of one of the wedding dates that the titular dudes find after placing an ad online. But since there's two hard-partying, immature brothers in the title, they need two dates. And today, Variety brings word on that second date with "Parks & Recreation" star Aubrey Plaza playing one of the two women who Mike and Dave surprisingly find out might get wilder and crazier than they do. In a surprising turn back in 2012, superstar Tom Cruise ventured into musical territory for the 80s rock infused Broadway adaptation Rock of Ages. The actor wasn't actually all that bad, and was easily the best part of a fun but somewhat messy musical. Now it looks like he might head back to the genre as The Wrap reports Cruise is circling the title role in the gestating Bob the Musical. He's not officially attached yet, but Disney has been circling Cruise for the role since January, and it sounds like he's still interested. Of course, there's plenty of movies Cruise is linked to, but they don't all come to fruition with him involved.
After turning in an impressive supporting performance in David Fincher's fantastic thriller Gone Girl, it looks like Tyler Perry is moving into blockbuster territory. Variety reports the director and actor has just landed the key role of scientist Baxter Stockman in next summer's sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. The character's involvement in the film remains to be seen, but in the comics and animated series, Stockman is responsible for creating little robots called Mousers that gave our heroes in a half-shell some trouble. In the comics, they robb banks, but on the TV series they had another purpose. Read on!

It's been a couple months since Sony Pictures struck a deal with Marvel Studios to share the iconic superhero Spider-Man, allowing him to enter the Marvel cinematic universe while Sony creates yet another franchise featuring a new version of Peter Parker. The last substantial update on the Spider-Man front pegged Drew Goddard to write and direct what will be the first film in a new franchise, beginning on the big screen July 28th, 2017. Since then, we've learned that Spider-Man will definitely be Peter Parker (not Miles Morales), but we've had no indication as to who may play the webcrawler. That changed today.
Ever since production began on Zoolander 2, there's always been some kind of cool update on the film, whether it's a new cast member, or a glimpse behind the scenes. Billy Zane was recently revealed to pop up again after having a cameo in the original flick, but this time we have word of a new cast member joining the mix. "Portlandia" creator and star Fred Armisen recently posted a video to Instagram revealing that he's heading to Europe, and Ben Stiller confirmed it was for a role in the comedy sequel when he reposted the video. Armisden was even nice enough to pack some iced coffee for Stiller and the crew. The comedian joins his former "Saturday Night Live" colleague Kristen Wiig as another unknown new character in fashion.
Not too long ago, Ian McKellen was secured to play the butler turned clock named Cogsworth in Disney's forthcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the title romantic roles. After playing father and son in Crazy Stupid Love, last year's Oscar-nominated stars Steve Carell and Emma Stone will face each other on the tennis court. You may remember that over a year ago, we learned Danny Boyle and Simon Beaufoy, the director and writer behind Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, were developing a film about the famous Battle of the Sexes tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973. Now Deadline reports Fox Searchlight is behind the film to be produced by Boyle, but directed by Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris, directors of Ruby Sparks and Little Miss Sunshine.
"Listen to your friend Billy Zane. He's a cool dude." It looks like Derek Zoolander may find himself in a position to get some advice from his good friend Billy Zane yet again. Zoolander 2 is currently in production, and we've seen bits and pieces of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson back in character as male models Zoolander and Hansel, not to mention Derek's teenage son, played by Cyrus Arnold. And now Stiller has revealed that Billy Zane will also be back. The actor, who also directed the first film (Justin Theroux is directing the sequel), made a post to Instagram today revealing the news in a delightfully weird way. Look!
