The first panel of Comic-Con 2007 features films from Paramount Pictures, including looks at Star Trek XI, Indiana Jones IV, Cloverfield / 1-18-08, Sweeney Todd, Drillbit Taylor, Spiderwick Chronicles, Hot Rod, Beowulf, and more.
1:26PM - Waiting for the lights to go down and the first panel to fire up…
With news pending in just a few more hours on Thursday afternoon at the Paramount panel at Comic-Con, Indiana Jones IV talk is really picking up and the buzz is starting to build. The first reveal so far is a poster that Paramount has been distributing exclusively here at Comic-Con for Indiana Jones IV, which isn't much, but it is worth a look. It's essentially a montage of drawings and concept art that any Indy fan will certainly appreciate.
Just a few days ago we posted a couple of extra Watchmen casting rumors and promised to deliver an update once they were confirmed at Comic-Con this week. However, a few days early (the Warner Brothers panel with director Zack Snyder doesn't take place until Friday morning), the Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the full cast list and in turn we're now presenting to you the official full Watchmen cast.
Plenty of great news today from Richard Kelly on Southland Tales, the most important being that November 9th is the day you need to mark down in your calendars. The release date has been officially announced by Sony, and you won't want to miss it!
The second bit of exciting news is that Richard Kelly himself will be at Comic-Con this week very briefly signing new teaser posters for Southland Tales! The new posters haven't been revealed, but I'm sure we'll post photos of them once we catch a glimpse at Comic-Con. For details on when and where you can see him and get a poster as well as a new photo from Southland Tales, read on!
The San Diego International Comic-Con hits in just under a week, kicking off on Thursday, July 26th. Are you ready for the BEST Comic-Con movie coverage on the internet? FirstShowing.net will be there in full force to cover every last bit of the biggest gathering of geeks and fans alike. We're all set and ready to go, our travel and hotel arrangements finalized, laptop batteries charged, and excitement at its peak. If you're interested in following our coverage, which will include live blogging of the big panels, interviews, latest news, and much more, you can find all the details and a schedule below.
Let's make quick news of it: 20th Century Fox has pulled entirely out of the San Diego Comic-Con happening next week, removing their Friday afternoon panel and all of their appearances. The LA Times broke the story and the official response is that the "material wasn't ready and we only want to go out when we can put our best foot forward." Although Fox may claim that the footage they wanted to show wasn't ready yet, there are a number of other more realistic reasons that they're going to miss out on the biggest gathering of geeks and fans all year long.
The San Diego Comic-Con is now only 17 days away and I hope all of you are getting ready for one hell of a week. Whether you'll be out there as well (make sure you say hi!) or whether you'll be following it online, it's looking to be one of the most exciting Comic-Con's yet. The full schedule of all of the panels and programming has been released and is online at the Comic-Con official website here. Some of the big highlights are Iron Man, Beowulf, Saw IV, 30 Days of Night, The Incredible Hulk, Watchmen, and much more.
With the San Diego Comic-Con set to hit in just under 3 weeks, we're getting pretty excited here at FS.net to yet again bring you some of the best coverage you'll find on the web. To start building that excitement, Comic-Con has released an official "sneak peek" at a few (not all) of the panels that will be at Comic-Con this year. You can find the full "sneak peek" list here (and the actual full schedule arriving soon), but we'll jump right ahead to the ones that should interest all of you.
The San Diego International Comic-Con is only 50 days away, and that means we're only 50 days from hitting one of the high points of the summer. After all the big releases come out and we hit the end of July, San Diego becomes the center of activity with endless debuts of trailers and exclusive footage, celebrity appearances, and much more movie related news. A couple of months ago I came up with a list of movies that should be present at Comic-Con, titled The Probable Comic-Con 2007 Movie Slate, and now they've confirmed an actual list of likely appearances.
Summer is still about a month or more away, but I'm already getting excited for Comic-Con in July. It is without a doubt that the biggest movies will make their major debut at the San Diego International Comic-Con. Just look at my Best of Comic-Con list last year and almost everything on there, with an exception of Southland Tales, Reno 911! Miami, and Beerfest, have been (or will be) huge hits, especially 300 and Grindhouse, due in thanks to the incredible buzz that they started during Comic-Con.
What movie panels and footage debuts can we expect to see at this year's Comic-Con? Of course there are all the big comic book movies in 2008, but what else could we possibly see? I'm tackling this bit of early excitement for the hell of it, just to get all of you excited, too.
